H R Chae
Heejae Chae joined the Board as Executive Director in September 2009 and subsequently became Group Chief Executive in November 2009. Prior to joining Scapa, Heejae was Group Chief Executive of Volex Group plc. He was previously the Group General Manager, Radio Frequency Worldwide, for Amphenol Corporation. He spent the early part of his career in finance at The Blackstone Group and Credit Suisse First Boston before moving into industry.
Paul Edwards joined the Board in September 2010 as Group Finance Director. Prior to joining Scapa he was Group Finance Director of NCC Group plc. Paul is a Chartered Management Accountant and MBA and spent the earlier part of his career in manufacturing, logistics and services sectors.
J A S Wallace
James Wallace joined the Board in August 2007 and became Chairman in October 2007. He is currently also Chairman of the Nominations Committee. An accountant by qualification, he spent the majority of his very successful executive career at Pifco Holdings PLC until 2001. James has held various Non-Executive Director positions and was Chairman of Bodycote plc from January 2002 until April 2008. Currently James is a Non-Executive Director of Manchester Airport Group plc.
R J Perry
Richard Perry was appointed to the Scapa Board in June 2005 and is the Senior Independent Director. Richard was Group Finance Director of Fenner plc from 1994 until his retirement in March 2015. He was formerly a senior audit partner with Price Waterhouse.
M C Buzzacott
Mike Buzzacott joined the Board in March 2008 and is currently Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee. Mike spent 35 years with BP, holding senior roles in both Finance and the Chemicals business, before retiring as Group Vice President Petrochemicals in 2004. Mike has extensive experience of the global chemicals industry. He is currently Non-Executive Director at Genus PLC and is a former Director of Croda International Plc and Rexam PLC. Mike is a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Martin Sawkins joined the Board on 1 January 2015 and is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He is currently the Group HR Director of Rentokil Initial Plc and a Non-Exec Director for Wincanton plc. Martin has operated within both the plc and private equity environment and is a former HR Director of HomeServe plc, The AA Ltd and Centrica Home and Road Services. Prior to this Martin held a number of senior positions in HR and Operations after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Southampton University.
Group General Counsel & Company Secretary
R L Smith
Rebecca joined Scapa in 2012 as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. Rebecca is a UK qualified solicitor and spent the early part of her career as a solicitor at a leading UK law firm, before moving into industry. Rebecca has a background in international corporate and commercial law and business, including six years with an international technology commercialisation business. Prior to joining Scapa, Rebecca was Group Legal Counsel & Company Secretary at K3 Business Technology PLC.
Joe joined Scapa as Group President Healthcare in September 2011. He has over 30 years of experience in the medical equipment industry. His most recent role was Group President at Spacelabs Healthcare, a global provider of patient monitoring, anaesthesia, diagnostic cardiology and clinical information solutions with US$215 million in turnover.
Clare Douglas joined Scapa in March 2013 as Group HR Director. Before joining, Clare was Commercial HR Director for Ideal Standard International. Prior to this role Clare held senior Global HR roles with Smith & Nephew plc and SSL International plc.
Chris Carter joined Scapa on 2 May 2013 as Group Operations Director. Prior to joining Scapa, Chris was VP Manufacturing GB&I and Iberia for Georgia Pacific. His previous career included a number of Operations roles at Cadbury Schweppes, Pedigree Petfoods and Baker Perkins. He has a Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
James Neuling joined Scapa on 2 June 2014 as the Managing Director for Scapa’s Industrial Division. The early years of his career were in commercial roles, before moving into general management with GE Advanced Materials. For the last eight years he has held global divisional responsibilities with Rio Tinto Alcan and Mondi. James previously led dynamic regions such as SE Asia and East Europe for Zumtobel and GE respectively. He has lived, worked and studied in nine countries, and was the MD for the Alcan International Network, a global $3B trading organisation. He holds an MBA from IMD, and Engineering and Marketing degrees.
Sayoung Jung joined Scapa in June 2014 as Director of Strategy and Corporate Development. Prior to joining Scapa, Sayoung was a Director in the Investment Banking division of Barclays PLC. She has nearly 14 years of investment banking experience and has advised on a broad range of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions. She has advised companies across multiple industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, technology, media, transportation, oil and gas and general industrial manufacturing. She has served clients on cross border transactions in Asia, Europe and the US.
